The Oreo Crunchies Dipped are, so to speak, small "baby Oreos", which are coated with chocolate for extra sweet pleasure. The mini cookies consist of crunchy cocoa cookies with a vanilla cream filling, as known from the cult brand Oreo from the USA.
The first Oreo Cookie was made 1912.
The manufacturer Nabisco has never revealed the meaning of the name. Nevertheless, several theories exist about the origin of the name.
Some believe that the word "Oreo" stands for the cookie itself, with the two "O"s standing for the cookie slices and the "RE" for the cream.
One theory is that the name comes from the word "Or," the French word for gold, since the original packaging was golden.
Another theory is that the name comes from a class of appetite stimulants called "orexigenics."
Possibly the name comes from the Greek word "oreo", which means mountain, but also delicious, good, beautiful, and so on.
The color of the Oreo is controversial - for some they are dark brown, for others they are rather black. Officially, no color has ever been assigned.
In 2002, an entire street section in New York was named after the cookies, the so-called "Oreo Way". This is where the first Oreo cookie was made. By the way, it takes about 2 hours to make and bake an Oreo cookie.
