Harry Burnett Reese was working at chocolate maker Hershey's when he started making his own chocolate in his basement. His goal was to earn some extra money on the side to feed his family of 16 children. The business became a great success.
During World War II, Reese had to discontinue many of his products due to sugar shortages, but he kept Reese's Peanut Butter Cups in his line.
